Afghan forces uncover assault firearms

During operations in sections of Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province, security authorities recovered 40 assault firearms and detained five persons, according to provincial police spokesperson Mohammad Asif Waziri.

Waziri told a press conference here that security authorities discovered the weapons in various sections of the province during a recent series of operations and detained five persons in connection with them.
Over the last month, security agents have detained 65 persons on suspicion of involvement in illegal operations, according to the source.
