A couple stunned the internet by leaving a hefty tip of $810, which equates to more than Rs156,000 at the current currency rate on May 14, 2022.

According to NDTV, the pair went to their favourite eatery in Rhode Island, “The Big Cheese & Pub.”

The original bill for the meal they consumed was only $48. The restaurant posted about the incident on their official Facebook page, along with a photo of the bill.

“We are grateful for the presence of angels among us. Thank you for your continued support, long-time patrons “the caption said

The entire amount is 48 dollars and 17 cents, with a scribbled note for $810 on the invoice.

Jennifer Vernacio, the waitress who received the tip, told NDTV that she had never received a tip this large before.

“I just wanted to express my gratitude. It meant a lot to me “Vernancio was reported by NDTV as adding.

“That kind of tip made me happy for the rest of the day,” she continued.

Kim Tierney, the restaurant manager, agreed that it makes a big impact.

Some social media users were ecstatic, while others were dubious.

A commenter who appeared to be Vernacio’s acquaintance remarked, “It couldn’t have gone to a better person!! This is fantastic.”
