European Council president congratulates Sweden on its decision to join NATO

Charles Michel, president of the European Council praised Sweden and its prime minister, Magdalena Andersson, for their decision to join NATO.

He described it as a “decision for the sake of collective security and defense.”

Michel tweeted on Monday, “With Sweden’s application to join NATO alongside its strategic partner Finland, our security becomes even stronger.”

“EU contribution to NATO deterrence is increasingly invaluable,” he added.
