A humanitarian corridor has been arranged to transport wounded Ukrainian soldiers from the Azovstal steel mill in Mariupol to the Russian-controlled town of Novoazovsk, Russia’s defense ministry stated.

“An agreement has been reached on the removal of the wounded,” the ministry stated.

“A humanitarian corridor has been opened through which wounded Ukrainian servicemen are being taken to a medical facility in Novoazovsk.”

The UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross reached a deal with Russia and Ukraine last month, and the majority of residents were evacuated from the plant.

However, Ukrainian fighters remain at the factory, with videos and photos showing some of the defenders in critical condition.
