The new government lineup in France will be published later on Friday, according to the president, with the new cabinet meeting on Monday.

The news comes four days after outgoing Labor Minister Elisabeth Borne was chosen as Premier, making her the first woman to lead the French government in almost 30 years.

Following President Emmanuel Macron’s re-election in April and ahead of parliamentary elections next month, the government overhaul was widely predicted.

Following his re-election, the centrist Macron will require a parliamentary majority to carry through his domestic agenda, with a new left-wing coalition and the far-right threatening to derail it.

Edith Cresson, the last female prime minister, served in President Francois Mitterrand’s administration from May 1991 until April 1992.

Borne, 61, is considered a capable technocrat who can deal with unions responsibly as the president starts on a new package of social changes that includes a raise in the retirement age, which might stir demonstrations.
