Kherson is shifting towards ruble

According to the head of the regional council, the Russian ruble is not utilized in the occupied Ukrainian region of Kherson.

Last month, a local official backed by Russia said that the region would begin utilizing the Russian ruble as currency on May 1.

On April 28, the official, Kirill Stremousov, informed the Russian news outlet RIA-Novosti that both the Russian ruble and the Ukrainian hryvnia will be in circulation for a transition period of up to four months.

According to the agency, only the ruble would be used in the Kherson region after that.
