NATO members have agreed to continue supporting Ukraine in its efforts to restrain Russia.
According to sources from the BBC, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said this in Berlin on Sunday.
“Putin must be defeated in Ukraine, Russia must be restrained, and such aggression must never be repeated. […] Ukraine’s security depends on its ability to defend itself. Allies must help Ukraine transition to NATO-standard weapons by providing artillery, training, and knowledge as soon as possible “she stated.
She also stated that NATO’s “open door” policy for new members must be maintained.
“NATO’s open door policy is critical, and if Finland and Sweden elect to join, it is evident that they will boost the alliance and European security in general,” Truss said.
