Russia is said to have sent a series of terrifying armored vehicles known as “Terminators” to the frontlines of the Ukraine conflict.

According to the Times of London, tank support combat vehicles, or BMPTs, were observed in a series of films across the Donbas, Ukraine’s eastern area that has become the war’s major battlefield.

“Thank you, God!” We have Terminators!” Aleksandr Sladkov, a pro-Kremlin war reporter, stated in one of the videos he published on Telegram that their arrival was “progress” for the delaying invasion.

The “Terminator,” which was originally employed by Russian forces in Syria and is equipped with four anti-tank missile launchers, two 30mm cannons, two grenade launchers, and one machine gun, has a peak speed of 37mph, according to the UK Times.

According to the UK publication, they are meant to repel attacks from hostile helicopters, drones, or other low-flying warplanes, and are built with explosive reactive armor to restrict damage if struck.

The deployment was verified by Russian official media, as was the moniker, which is assumed to be inspired by the 1984 film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger portrays a cyborg assassin.

According to The Independent, “BMPTs [nicknamed ‘Terminator’] are participating in the fire destruction of Ukrainian positions, armored vehicles, and anti-tank missile system operators,” a military source told state-owned news outlet Ria Novosti.

Their deployment comes after Russia suffered catastrophic losses during its invasion, which western intelligence has long concluded failed spectacularly.
