Saudi-Arabia announces last deadline for Umrah applications before Hajj

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has extended the deadline for foreign pilgrims to apply for Umrah before Hajj 2022, which is expected to attract a million people this year.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the deadline to apply for Umrah is May 16, 2022. (today). “The decision will be implemented with the Saudi foreign ministry’s participation,” it said.

The last day for Umrah pilgrims to leave Saudi Arabia is 30 Ziqat. This year, more than 1.6 million pilgrims have completed Umrah.
32,000 successful Hajj candidates will be notified today, according to Communications Minister Maulana Asad Mahmood, while the details of the remaining applicants will also be revealed.

According to Maulana Asad Mahmood, 31,253 ambitious pilgrims would do Hajj this year, with Pakistan receiving an 86,000-pilgrim quota in 2022. Following today’s balloting, the names of 32,000 successful applicants will be released in accordance with the government’s 40% quota.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to the federal minister, asked authorities to arrange modest Hajj expenses for pilgrims. Following Saudi Arabia’s strategy, the final Hajj package will be announced.

“People above the age of 65 are unable to participate in the journey. The Hajj directorate is in contact with Saudi officials, and Mufti Abdul Shakoor, the federal minister for Islamic affairs, is also in Saudi Arabia.”

The unsuccessful candidates could receive their payments from the banks, according to Maulana Mahmood.
