Surrey: Four climate activists charged M25 service station protests

Four people have been charged as a result of climate protests at two M25 service stations in Surrey.
Just Stop Oil reported on Thursday that 35 of its followers had stopped petrol stations at Cobham and Clacket Lane Services.
Activists claimed to have vandalized petrol pumps by destroying display glass and spray-painting them.
The two men and two women have been charged with causing more than £5,000 in criminal damage. Four more people have been released on police bail.
According to Surrey Police, a further 27 people are still being investigated.
According to a statement issued by the force on Friday, 55 pumps were destroyed during the protests.
Both installations’ HGV pumps were not targeted and remained operational.
Protesters had also fastened themselves to forecourt pumps and signage, and one was glued to the top of a lorry.
