A passenger van lost control and went down a road in Afghanistan’s central Daykundi province, killing three women and injuring seven others, local police said on Friday.

On Thursday, around midday, the van-bus lost control along the road in Miramor district’s hilly Pallas Chaharsad Khana hamlet, according to district police head Fedahi Khan.

According to the source, the ill-fated car was on its way to a local bazaar, and the injured, including numerous children, were taken to the district hospital.

Road accidents are common in Afghanistan, and they are usually caused by improper driving or poorly maintained roads or automobiles.
