Ukrainian children with cancer are forced to say goodbye to their fathers and flee

A war zone effects the vulnerable and the sick people the most.
Doctors are planning an evacuation operation which is delicate, and tough simultaneously.
The children at wards in Ukrainian hospitals need an urgent escape from the conflict area.
They aspire to situate the sickest children through the border of Poland.
In this way, their families would be made refuges, but they will be saved from the consequences.
A hospital is located in Lyiv, and it is miles away from the fighting of Russians, yet it’s not safe.
The windows of the hospital have been taped, in case of the shelling, but it is not an absolute measure to obstruct and refrain from the shelling.
The drug supply has also been disrupted.
There are regular air raid sirens that make it impossible to maintain extra care.
“You’ll see now how all the patients have to come out of their rooms,” says Yuliya Nogovitsyna, from the Tabletochki Charity Foundation.
She further adds, “You can go with them but you’d better take your coats.”
The children with the highest severity in disease will go by ambulance.
However, the less effected will go by coach.
The whole convoy will be escorted by police cars, so that it can move fast.
“We are responsible for these kids,” emergency doctor Pawel Kukiz-Szczuciński tells.
“Everything can change, even up until the very last minute,” he says.
“Remember, this is a war zone and we are near an area where a missile strike killed a lot of people. So we have to mindful of that.
“And of course, there is pressure with that.”
