Zong Teams Up with PSDF & Huawei

Zong 4G, Pakistan’s leading cellular and digital services provider, has partnered with PSDF (Punjab Skills Development Fund) and Huawei, a worldwide technology leader, to bridge the digital divide in Pakistan.

PSDF has acquired 300 smart Huawei tablets from Zong and Huawei Pakistan as part of the agreement, with both partners working together to digitally empower Pakistani youth by providing crucial digital resources and tools to help their skill development.

PSDF received the MetaPad tablets and will use them to implement its online learning and hybrid training programs, which are aimed at developing learners’ skill sets so that they may take advantage of job and income prospects.

PSDF is sponsoring skills training that is in demand by businesses as part of its digital training program, e-tayyar, to equip learners with skills to develop their professions in the digital era.

This will be accomplished by providing them with training in developing careers such as professional freelancing and how to start their own businesses.

Ali Akbar Bosan, COO PSDF, said, “This collaboration between PSDF ,Zong and Huawei creates a holistic opportunity for PSDF trainees who will gain access to technical knowledge through PSDF course content and the digital tools they need to access their course like internet data and smart devices, from the nation’s top IT provider.”

Zong’s official spokesperson said, “It’s a delight to be extending our partnership for digital empowerment and bringing more opportunities for Pakistanis to get trained on digital skills. The partnership resonates with our motto of ‘Let’s Get Digital’ as it will bridge the digital divide in Pakistan. I’m confident that we’ll achieve greater milestones out of this collaboration.”

PSDF has already formed effective collaborations with Zong and Huawei in order to help its efforts to close the country’s digital divide.

It developed the e-learning course ‘How to E-lance’ in conjunction with Zong to instruct 10,000 youth on how to start their online professions on Fiverr and Upwork, the top online platforms for freelancers, while also giving free internet data to support their learning journey.

PSDF and Zong’s objective is to optimize tablet usage so that as many people are possible can profit from them.

The tablets will be provided to high-achieving trainees in order for them to continue to work as freelancers.
