DAMASCUS: Eleven soldiers and two civilians were killed in a bus attack in northern Syria on Monday, as per a military statement.

According to the statement, the bus was attacked in the al-Jireh area at 6:30 a.m. local time (0330 GMT) while going from the northern province of Raqqa to the central province of Homs.

A prior story stated that all of the deceased were military.

According to the military statement, three soldiers were injured during the incident.

The statement dubbed the attack a terrorist act but did not identify the perpetrators. No immediate claim of responsibility was made.
