As per a statement released by China’s top legislature on Thursday, President Xi Jinping has chosen nine new ambassadors in accordance with a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

Hong Xiaoyong was replaced as China’s ambassador to Singapore by Sun Haiyan.

Ni Jian was replaced as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates by Zhang Yiming.

Rao Hongwei was replaced as ambassador to Rwanda by Wang Xuekun.

Lu Shan was replaced as ambassador to Burkina Faso by Li Jian.

Li Yan was replaced as ambassador to Georgia by Zhou Qian.
