COVID-19 cases have been reported in Vietnam

According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam registered 1,047 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, up 37 from Tuesday.

In 40 provinces and cities, all of the new diseases were spread domestically.

On Wednesday, the Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot, with 245 new cases reported, followed by 67 cases in northern Yen Bai province and 61 cases in northern Vinh Phuc province.

The illnesses resulted in a total of 10,720,426 infections and 43,079 fatalities. Across the country, 9,471,840 COVID-19 patients have recovered, accounting for more than 88 percent of the infections.

According to the ministry, almost 221.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccination have been provided throughout the country, with around 199.5 million injections given to those aged 18 and up.

Vietnam has had four coronavirus waves of increasing magnitude, complexity, and infectivity. According to the ministry, it has registered more than 10.7 million locally transmitted COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, since the commencement of the current wave of illnesses in April 2021.

On May 31, a total of 5,757 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 9,462,298.

There are 150 people that require oxygen, and one fatality has been reported in the last 24 hours. The overall number of people killed was 43,079.

By May 30, the government had administered 221,161,159 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, with 4,013,787 first doses and 350,580 supplementary doses for children aged five to twelve.
