When leaving the city of Lysychansk, a journalistic team from the German publication Bild came under hostile fire. Bild provided the relevant video Paul Ronzheimer, vice president of Bild, had been often travelling to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict. Together with two photographers, Georgos Mutafis and Vadym Moisenko, he is currently working in the Donbas.

The journalists’ car came under enemy fire as it was leaving Lysychansk. It was documented on camera.

“This highway is likely to be the most dangerous in Ukraine. […] Russians are continuously shelling it, as it is the only road running from the city,” Ronzheimer commented.

Three reporters were uninjured. At head height, the Russian projectile shattered a car glass. The journalist might have been hit by the gunfire if he hadn’t bowed down.

It is now unknown, according to Bild, whether the Russian military purposefully fired at the car. Recently, hostile fire has been nonstop on the route. A French reporter was slain there two weeks ago.
