Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran’s Foreign Minister stated on Sunday evening that Iran welcomes the reopening of the Iranian and Saudi embassies in Riyadh and Tehran, respectively.

As per the website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amir-Abdollahian stated in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi that Iran solely strives to advance regional interests.

Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran thinks that the answers to problems in the region are already there and that Iran supports the continuation of the ceasefire in Yemen.

He also said that the Arab state needs to be freed from its siege.

Amir-Abdollahian stated that, given the similarities between Iran and Egypt, enhancing relations between Tehran and Cairo would be in the region’s and the Muslim world’s best interests.

The Iraqi prime minister emphasised Iran’s significance and role in regional events, stating that his government is committed to establishing connections with Iran.

He assured his host that Iraq would continue its efforts to promote regional dialogue and cooperation.
