The problem with Ukraine’s grain exports and support for granting Ukraine EU candidate status have been discussed by Latvian Prime Minister Krijnis Kari and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On the eve of the European Council session, I had an important conversation with Krijnis Kari, according to a tweet from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. We are appreciative of Latvia’s support for Ukraine’s candidacy. This choice has implications for both Ukraine and all of United Europe. The situation regarding the export of Ukrainian grain was discussed, according to Zelensky.

Reminder: On June 23–24, 2022, the European Council will gather and have a comprehensive discussion about whether to grant Ukraine the status of a country candidate for membership in the European Union.
