Terrified passengers yelled and tried to get off a jet when it exploded into flames after a horrifying crash landing at Miami Airport.

According to reports, the landing gear on the aircraft broke while it was returning from the Dominican Republic to the Florida international transit hub, forcing the pilot to crash land the 100-passenger flight.

Firefighters can be seen spraying foam over the plane in video taken from outside the aircraft in a last-ditch effort to put out the flames.

The person filming turns to show the thick plumes of black smoke and flames rising from the back of the plane once he reaches the safety of the tarmac.

Janine Stanwood, a local WPLG reporter, published the footage earlier today on Twitter.

She penned: “Following the landing gear collapse and fire at MIA, video captures the chaotic moments when passengers of RedAir aircraft 203 make their way outside.

Others use an emergency chute.”

According to reports, the plane reportedly made contact with a communications tower and a small building after landing before coming to a stop in a field of grass.

Twitter users claimed that most passengers were able to leave the plane safely, sustaining only minor injuries.

It’s unclear if the landing gear problem occurred before the flight or during the landing.
