A fire broke out early Saturday morning at a petrochemical facility in Shanghai, China, as per the company.

The fire broke out at 4:28 a.m. in the city’s Jinshan District at the ethylene glycol factory of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd’s chemical department.

Firefighters and rescuers raced to the scene. The fire has been efficiently contained, and protective burning is being conducted, the company reported, adding that no influence on the local aquatic ecosystem has been discovered.
