Jurgen Klopp is ‘delighted’ that James Milner chose to continue with Liverpool beyond the summer after the midfielder agreed to a one-year contract extension at Anfield.
Milner, 37, joined Liverpool in 2015 and, along with captain Jordan Henderson and forward Roberto Firmino, is one of only three players left at the club who played in the first team before Klopp’s arrival.

In his seven years at Liverpool, the former England international won the league title, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup once each.
His contract was set to expire on June 30th, but he will now continue to play for Liverpool.
Milner told Liverpoolfc.com, ‘I’m delighted to be staying for another season.’ ‘I’ve never taken playing for this club for granted, and I’ll never take it for granted again.’
‘An overarching feeling for me – and one that was crucial in the process – was the belief that I could still contribute to the team.’ The gaffer was forthright in his opinions, which was a major influence in my decision to prolong my contract.
