Russian missile attacks have forced Ukraine’s oil processing sector to halt operations. Yuriy Vitrenko, Chairman of the NJSC Board for Naftogaz of Ukraine, made the pertinent remark during a press conference.

“Unfortunately, such attacks have started since the first days of the war […]. Oil processing operations in Ukraine have been suspended due to massive repeated attacks by the aggressor. It is difficult to ensure the logistics of petroleum deliveries to the Ukrainian market and, thus, there is a shortage,” Vitrenko told.

He said that, subject to a number of requirements, including acquiring control over a network of gas station locations, Ukraine’s Naftogaz will help resolve the country’s fuel-related problems.

“Naftogaz will be able to contribute to resolving the fuel market issues and ensure the stability, transparency, and fairness of prices in the market when we get full control and a filling station chain, when the logistics issue is resolved, and when we can receive resources to create a national reserve of petroleum products,” Vitrenko said.

a reminder that one consequence of Russian armed action is the fuel situation in Ukraine. Prior to the war, Belarus and Russia provided the majority of the Ukraine’s imports of gasoline and diesel fuel.
