Recently, fierce clashes have been going on close to the Lysychansk Oil Refinery. Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, made the pertinent remark during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“The enemy continues to focus efforts on conducting hostilities in the east of our state. During fierce battles, the enemy managed to gain control over Sievierodonetsk, Voronove and Borivske. Our units withdrew and gained a foothold on the right bank of the Siverskyi Donets. In the course of battles, the enemy suffered significant losses but continues attempts to gain control near Lysychansk. In recent days, fierce battles have been raging near Lysychansk Oil Refinery,” Hromov told.

According to him, Russian troops began conducting assault operations this morning in various directions. Although there are ongoing battles, the adversary has had little success thus far.

“In the Bakhmut direction, fierce battles are raging. Having an advantage in terms of manpower and means, especially artillery, in order to restrain our units, the enemy conducted assault operations in the direction of Soledar near Klynove, as well as Novoluhanske Thermal Power Plant. The enemy had no success in these areas,” Hromov noted.
