As further sanctions are imposed against his allegedly sex-obsessed mistress, Russian President Vladimir Putin has suffered yet another setback.
Olympic gold-winning rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, 39, is thought to have given birth to at least two children with Putin, and it was rumoured earlier this year that she was pregnant with another.
Earlier, Russian photographer Mikhail Korolov, who took her pictures for Maxim, called her “full of sex.”
At the time, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss declared: “We are tightening the vise on Putin’s inner circle and exposing the shadowy network supporting his luxurious lifestyle.
Additionally, she is linked to a person who is designated as being responsible for actions that threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence as well as its stability and security.
Australia has now retaliated against Kabaeva.
She was one of the 16 Russians who were placed to the Kyiv Independent’s sanctions list yesterday (July 1).
Three Russian ministers and family members of Putin are reportedly among the remaining 16.
In April, US officials debated whether to impose sanctions on Putin’s alleged mistress.
The National Security Council shelved the proposals out of concern that they may incite Putin to act rashly, despite the Treasury Department having completed the necessary papers.
Rebekah Koffler, a former US intelligence officer of Russian descent, predicted at the time that while the action would not end the conflict in Ukraine, it would have a negative financial impact on Putin in terms of personal holdings and tax implications.
