According to the Association of Ukrainian Cities, eight city, village, and settlement leaders from the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv areas are now detained by Russian authorities.

The Association praised everyone who helped free the prisoners, particularly the Special Operations Forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister of Reintegration of Ukraine’s Temporarily Occupied Territories.

Oleksandr Babych, the mayor of Hola Prystan, is believed to have been released from captivity, although this has not been confirmed, according to the Association.
