Pakistani-American photojournalist was shot and killed by her husband in Chicago on Monday after he had travelled there from his home in Georgia. He then shot himself as the police arrived at the scene.

The authorities were called to Sania Khan’s apartment building by the police, who wanted to check on the 36-year-old shooter Raheel Ahmad after his family reported him missing.

After knocking on the door, the officials reportedly heard a gunshot and a “verbal groan.” When they arrived, they discovered Khan unconscious with a gunshot wound to the back of her skull and dried blood on her face.

Ahmad was discovered in the bedroom at the same time, with a 9mm Glock handgun in his hand, a bullet wound to the head, and a suicide note nearby.

While the male passed away after being taken to the hospital, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
