Two civilians injured by an Israeli strike on Syria- Google
An Israeli strike on the western coast of Syria injured two people on Saturday, as per the Syrian defence ministry.
“The Israeli enemy carried an airstrike” at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the town of Al-Hamidiyah, the ministry said in a statement, identifying the targets as poultry farms without providing further details.
The attack was launched from the Mediterranean Sea, west of the northern city of Tripoli in Lebanon, and “injured two civilians, including a woman,” according to the statement.
Since the Syrian civil war began in 2011, Israel has done a lot of airstrikes against its neighbour to the north.
Both Syrian government forces and forces backed by Iran and Hezbollah fighters have been hit by the raids.
The runways of Damascus International Airport were rendered inoperable for weeks by Israeli attacks last month.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the strikes hit nearby warehouses that Iran and Hezbollah used to store weapons. They also did a lot of damage to both civilian and military runways.
Nearly 500,000 people have died in the Syrian conflict, and about half of the country’s population before the war has been forced to leave.
