Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, praised Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, for Canada’s defence assistance and urged Canada to put further pressure on Russia through sanctions following its missile attacks on tranquil Ukrainian cities.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, made the pertinent comment on Twitter.

“Spoke to Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. Thanked for the continued powerful defense support. Reiterated that the international position on sanctions must be principled. After the terrorist attacks in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Chasiv Yar, etc. the pressure must be increased, not decreased,” Zelensky noted.

Recall that Canada opted to return a Siemens Energy AG gas turbine following technical maintenance for use in the Nord Stream 1 pipeline at Germany’s request. The Ukrainian government objected, but the decision was nonetheless made.
