According to the first lady’s communications director Elizabeth Alexander, her sister Bonny Jacobs will accompany her. Jacobs works for United Airlines as a flight attendant.

Biden stated earlier on Sunday that he has “a plan” for the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks who perished on September 11, 2001.

Before boarding Air Force One to fly from Delaware to Washington, DC, Biden answered questions from reporters. When asked if he had a plan to deal with the families of 9/11 victims who want justice after the terrorist attacks, Biden said, “Yes, there is a plan for that,” without going into further detail.

After arriving at the National September 11 Memorial in New York City, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke with relatives who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks. According to a White House official, Harris met with first responders while attending a memorial service at Ground Zero.
