After meeting briefly with US Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol was overheard insulting American lawmakers. During their meeting, the leaders talked about things like US subsidies for electric cars, which South Korea wants to change.

South Korean TV showed a video of the South Korean leader telling Foreign Minister Park Jin, “What an embarrassment for Biden if these idiots refuse to grant it in Congress.”

A microphone picked up what they said as they were leaving a short conversation with Biden.

Bloomberg said that a senior official in the South Korean presidential office said that Yoon Suk Yeol’s comments were not official and could not be confirmed.
