Protests took place at the funeral of a lady who died after being detained by Iran’s moral police. Mahsa Amini, 22, died on Friday, just days after Tehran police fiercely refuted eyewitness accounts of torture in a police vehicle.

Several event goers reportedly disobeyed the rule by taking off their hijabs. Death to the tyrant was shouted by mourners, and a video later surfaced showing police shooting at a crowd. The funeral for Ms. Amini was conducted in Saqez, which is in the western part of Kurdistan.

As seen on social media, locals gathered early in the morning to stop Iranian security personnel from escaping via the cemetery.
