Police said that several people were arrested at the scene in Hostomel, and the painting has been found.

It was one of a number of pieces the British artist made in Ukraine last month.

Oleksiy Kuleba, the governor of Kyiv region, said on Telegram that the graffiti is still in good shape and that police are protecting it.

“After all, these images are signs of our fight against the enemy,” he said. “These are stories about how the whole civilised world has helped and stood with Ukraine.

“We’ll do everything we can to keep these street art pieces as a sign of our victory.”

The police showed pictures of a large hole in a yellow wall in Hostomel. The hole went all the way through to the bricks.
Last month, Banksy released a video of his art in Ukraine, which showed people going about their daily lives on buildings that had been hit by shelling.

The picture shows the towns of Hostomel, Horenka, and Borodyanka, which were among the hardest hit when Russia invaded Ukraine.

In the video, you can also see a man’s hand making the art, but in true Banksy fashion, you never see his face.
In Borodyanka, one mural shows a gymnast doing a handstand in the middle of broken things. One shows a man who looks like Vladimir Putin being thrown to the ground by a child in a judo match.

Banksy is one of the most famous artists in the world. In the early 1990s, his stencilled designs around Bristol made him famous, but even though he has fans all over the world, no one knows who he is.

The press often uses words like “elusive” and “secretive” to describe the “guerrilla street artist.” A-list celebrities are among his or her many fans.

It’s not the first time someone has tried to steal a Banksy piece. In 2019, a group of people in hoods took an art piece by Banksy through an emergency door at the Bataclan music hall in Paris. The piece was later found in Italy.

Some Banksy murals, like some in the UK, have been protected from damage or vandalism by being covered with plastic sheets.
