Renowned Arab Israeli performer Maisa Abdel Hadi has been detained by the Israeli police for her social media post endorsing the Palestinian resistance group Hamas for their illegal crossing of Israel’s borders during their unannounced attack on the country on October 7.

According to a statement they released without disclosing her identity, Authorities detained a Nazareth-based actress and network influencer on suspicion of using hate speech and praising terror.

The statement said, “The police fight against incitement and support for terrorism continues all the time.”

Maisa Abdel Hadi shared images of Yaffa Adar, an 85-year-old hostage, along with smiling emojis. She also shared a video of Hamas soldiers breaking through Israel’s security barrier.

Ofer Shechter, her co-star, criticized her article, stating: “I’m ashamed of you. You should be ashamed of yourself. You live in Nazareth, act and star in our TV shows and films, and then stab us in the back.”

The actor, who is Arab-Israeli, was detained along with a number of other people for posting on social media about the horrors of Israeli violence.

According to the Hamas administration in Gaza, More than 5,000 Palestinians have reportedly died as a result of Israel’s attacks on the coastal region.

She captioned the photo, “Let’s go Berlin-style,” alluding to the fall of the Berlin Wall, which divided two Germanys until 1989.

Her lawyer, Jaafar Farah, who is also the director of the human rights organization Mousawat said, “She is accused of supporting terrorism.”

The 37-year-old actress appeared in several plays, films, and television shows.

This week, Arab Israeli singer Dalal Abu Amneh was also temporarily jailed due to a social media post she made.

Rights activists and Israeli police claim that since the beginning of Israel’s conflict with Hamas, members of the Arab minority in Israel and Palestinians living in east Jerusalem have been imprisoned, dismissed, and expelled from universities for their comments showing support for the people of Gaza.

At least 700 Palestinians have died as a result of Israeli bombardment on Gaza, which has already been completely destroyed. This is a record number of deaths because the city’s streets and hospitals have been turned into cemeteries and morgues during the siege.

Organizations from the United Nations issued a pressing request for unlimited emergency supplies to be sent to Gaza, emphasizing that the present supply levels were insufficient to feed the Palestinian population under constant Israeli assault.

More than 400 Hamas fighter targets were allegedly hit by the occupying troops, killing many of the fighters.

Doctors in the war-torn Gaza region said on Tuesday that hundreds of patients are flooding hospitals with symptoms of illnesses brought on by extreme congestion and unhygienic conditions in the shelters, on top of the battle injured.

The current state of affairs has resulted in more than 1.4 million people fleeing to makeshift shelters as a result of the most severe airstrikes.

In this heavily populated Palestinian region, several humanitarian organizations have repeatedly expressed worry about an impending public health disaster.

Israel ordered all residents of the 45 km long Gaza Strip to go south, but its bombings destroyed entire neighborhoods in the enclave.

Medical professionals have warned that vital equipment, such as neonatal incubators, could cease working because all hospitals are running out of fuel to run their generators.

According to the Health Ministry, Forty medical centers have ceased operations which is managed by Hamas, at a time when the system is under more strain due to relocation and bombardment.
