Shocking Crash in Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE resident breaks traffic rules, causes collision in less than three seconds.

In a startling incident in Abu Dhabi, a driver’s reckless behavior led to a terrifying car crash at a busy intersection. A video shared by Abu Dhabi Police revealed a black SUV making a wrong turn and running a red light, resulting in a collision with another vehicle that spiraled out of control.

The video clearly captured the series of mistakes: Firstly, the SUV veered left when it should have gone straight in a lane marked for that purpose. Secondly, the turn occurred during a red signal, endangering vehicles from the opposite direction.

While the footage displayed multiple traffic violations, Abu Dhabi Police identified distracted driving as the primary cause of the crash.

“The driver wasn’t focused on the road and seemed to have been preoccupied with other things,” the authority said.

“Distracted driving — which often involves using one’s phone, browsing social media, making a call, or taking photos — leads to serious consequences and accidents.” It is a traffic offence punishable by a Dh800 fine and four black points.

The driver in the video not only made an illegal turn but also ran a red light, resulting in serious consequences. Violating the red light carries a penalty of Dh 1, 000, 12 black points on the driver’s record, and a 30-day confiscation of the vehicle. In order to retrieve the impounded SUV, the driver must pay a hefty Dh 50, 000 fine, as per Abu Dhabi’s traffic regulations.

Failure to settle the fine within three months will lead to the vehicle being auctioned off. Abu Dhabi Police emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on the road, being attentive to pedestrians, and adhering to traffic signals for all drivers.
