Dubai’s second tallest tower set to be completed by 2028
According to their recent announcement, Azizi Developments has commenced construction on what will become the second-tallest tower in Dubai. The Dubai-based private developer, which has not disclosed the tower’s name, stated that the construction holds a value of $1.5 billion or approximately Dh5.5 billion.
They are constructing the tower, with a scheduled completion by 2028, opposite the World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Its design includes a vertical mall, luxury residences, and penthouses. Additionally, the tower will feature a 7-star hotel, observation deck, and various high-end restaurants and amenities.
Mirwais Azizi, the founder and chairman of Azizi Developments, who hails from Afghanistan, declared, “We will leave behind a legacy with this tower.”
“With Dubai having given my family and me so much – safety and abundance of opportunities – this tower, which will be the second tallest, is our way of giving back to this emirate and its remarkably hospitable and welcoming people,” Azizi added.
The 828-meter Burj Khalifa currently holds the title of the tallest tower in Dubai and the world. Azizi Developments only needs to surpass Marina 101, standing at 425 meters, and the recently-announced Franck Muller Aeternitas Tower, to secure the position as the second tallest building in the emirate built at a height of 450 meters in Dubai Marina.
If Azizi aspires to claim the title of the world’s second tallest tower, it must exceed the height of Merdeka 118, Malaysia’s 679-meter tower, completed in November last year.
