Muscat-based airline Oman Air has decided to stop its flight services to key Pakistani cities, including Islamabad and Lahore, as part of significant changes to its destination offerings.

Despite being well-regarded for its modern fleet and services, the airline has suspended operations in several Asian regions, such as Colombo, Chittagong, and more.

Interestingly, Oman’s national carrier has introduced Sialkot as a new destination. This move is likely to impact passengers, especially South Asians who frequently travel for employment opportunities in the Middle East, relying on airlines like Oman Air for their journeys.

Oman Air has reportedly adjusted its destinations and flight frequencies to countries like Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh as part of a strategy to reduce losses and increase overall revenue.

The airline has reduced flight frequencies to certain cities in India while expanding capacity to Lucknow and Kerala.

Additionally, for the summer, Trabzon was added, and for winter, Malé and Zurich were included, aligning with holiday seasons.

These changes aim to enhance schedule efficiency, better serve the Omani market, and optimize travel routes to and from Muscat.

Oman Air emphasizes a flexible approach to adapt to changing market conditions, aiming to benefit the country’s economy and social goals.
