The former American president, Donald John Trump, has been declared safe after gunshots were reported near him in Florida.

According to international reports, the shots were heard near his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida where the Republican candidate was playing golf.

The FBI spokesperson called it an assassination attempt; however, the investigation is still active.

Earlier, in July, former US President Donald Trump was injured in a shooting during an election rally, with the assailant killed in the incident. According to American media, Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, was shot during his rally in Pennsylvania, resulting in injuries.

After the shooting, security personnel quickly evacuated Trump, while a bystander was also killed in the chaos. The incident caused a stampede in Butler, Pennsylvania, with Trump being taken to a nearby facility for medical attention.
