Donald Trump has been projected as the winner of the 2024 US presidential election, defeating Kamala Harris with a margin of over 52%.

According to The Associated Press, the former president secured victories in key states, including Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Texas.

In contrast, Harris claimed wins in states such as Washington, Oregon, California, New York, New Mexico, Illinois, and Colorado.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, Harris’s campaign chair, called for patience and resolve in a message to campaign staff, which was shared with the media. She noted that the tight race was something they had prepared for and predicted that the outcome may not be clear until the early morning hours.

“We’ve been saying for weeks that this race might not be called tonight. This is what we’ve been built for, so let’s finish what we can tonight, get some rest, and be ready to close out strong tomorrow,” she wrote.

On Tuesday, Trump cast his vote in Florida, expressing confidence about his campaign’s performance. “I feel very confident. We came in with a strong lead, and it looks like Republicans have turned out in force. We’ll see how it all turns out, but it seems like they’ve really shown up,” he told reporters.

So far, the states that have supported Kamala Harris include California, Connecticut, Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and Maine’s 1st Congressional District.
