On December 9, 2024, a drone suspected to have originated from Yemen exploded in the Israeli city of Yavne, according to international media.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that the drone entered Israeli airspace undetected and crashed into a residential building. Despite the explosion, no warning sirens were activated in the area, and no injuries have been reported.

Emergency responders from Magen David Adom were dispatched to the site, and the Yavne municipality confirmed the explosion at the residential building. Security officials are investigating, but so far, no casualties have been reported.

The IDF stated that the drone likely infiltrated from Yemen or Iraq and was not intercepted before crashing.

Authorities are now investigating the incident to determine the drone’s origin and the circumstances that led to the explosion.
