Gaza: Gaza strip is facing a worsening humanitarian crisis, with at least 66 children dying due to severe malnutrition.

According to the  local authorities, The Palestinian enclave blames the Israeli siege, which has severely restricted the entry of essential food supplies, including milk and nutritional supplements.

Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the blockade, calling it a “war crime,” and accused Israel of deliberately using starvation as a weapon to target civilians. The statement also condemned the international community’s silence on the suffering of Gaza’s children, urging the United Nations to intervene by opening border crossings immediately.

Recent reports from UNICEF highlight the alarming rise in malnutrition among children. In May alone, over 5,100 children aged six months to five years received treatment for acute malnutrition—a nearly 50% increase from April and a 150% jump from February, when aid was more accessible.

Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, emphasized the preventable nature of these tragedies, stating, “Every one of these cases is preventable.

The food, water, and nutrition treatments they desperately need are being blocked from reaching them.” He called on Israel to facilitate the large-scale delivery of aid through all crossings to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
