The incident occurred on Clark Street S near 23rd Street South in Arlington, Virginia. The vehicle, a black Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van powered by petrol, caught fire due to a mechanical malfunction, according to Arlington Fire and EMS.

Authorities confirmed that there was no explosion and that no packages were affected. The fire spread briefly to nearby bushes in the parking lot but did not threaten surrounding buildings, which remained unharmed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
