Washington: The White House confirmed that Israel informed the United States before carrying out the Doha attack that targeted Hamas leaders.

White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt told reporters during a press briefing that Israel had alerted Washington about the strike on Hamas leadership in Doha. She said President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were fully briefed.

Leavitt clarified that the Doha attack was Israel’s independent decision and not approved by President Trump. “The President spoke with the Emir of Qatar and assured him that Israel will not repeat such actions,” she added.

She also made it clear that Hamas’s warnings from Trump had no connection to the Israeli strike in Doha.

Earlier, Israel claimed responsibility for the airstrike in Doha, saying it specifically targeted Hamas leaders.
