KABUL: Two commanders of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were reportedly killed in explosions in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, on Thursday.

According to Afghan media reports, two loud explosions were heard in different parts of the city. Some sources claimed that TTP commanders Qari Saifullah Mehsud and Khalid Mehsud were among those killed in the blasts.

However, these reports have not yet been officially confirmed. Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that authorities are still collecting information and that no details about casualties have been confirmed so far.

The explosions and the reported deaths of the TTP leaders have circulated widely on social media, but Afghan officials have only confirmed that blasts occurred in Kabul without releasing further information.
