Gaza City/West Bank: Israeli warplanes and artillery struck areas in southern Gaza overnight, including parts of Khan Younis, despite Israel’s claim that it had returned to a ceasefire two days earlier.
Residents in Gaza described the situation as a “ceasefire without peace,” saying they remain trapped between ongoing bombardments, food shortages, and destroyed shelters.
In the occupied West Bank, a 15-year-old Palestinian boy, Yamen Samed Hamed, was shot and killed late Thursday during an Israeli military raid east of Ramallah, according to the official Wafa news agency. Troops reportedly used live fire, tear gas, and sound grenades during the operation.
In Nablus governorate, Israeli forces arrested two men — Moamen al-Tawil in Nablus city and Salim Ahmed Dawood Abu Sanoubar in the nearby village of Qiblan. Troops also stormed the New Askar refugee camp, firing heavy volleys of tear gas.
Further north, in Kafr Dan near Jenin, residents reported additional raids and detentions, including Fadi Mar’i and several other young men.
Meanwhile in Ramallah, Israeli settlers allegedly set fire to two Palestinian-owned vehicles in the village of Burqa. During a separate military raid, 18-year-old Mohammad Yousef Ma’tan was arrested.
According to Gaza’s health authorities, at least 68,527 Palestinians have been killed and 170,395 wounded since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023. The latest strikes come as Hamas returned the bodies of two deceased Israeli captives, which Israel confirmed have been positively identified.
