KARACHI: The city is experiencing hot and humid weather as sea breezes remain suspended.
The winds are currently blowing from the opposite direction at a speed of 8 km/h, the Met Office reported.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the minimum temperature recorded in the city was 28.1°C, while the current temperature stands at 32°C.
However, due to the high humidity level of 78% and light winds blowing at just 8 kilometers per hour from an unusual direction, the feels-like temperature is significantly higher between 38°C and 39°C.
Meteorologists say the sea breeze has weakened due to incoming monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea, which are expected to impact Karachi starting Sunday night. The PMD has forecast a high chance of rainfall in the coming days, likely bringing relief from the oppressive heat.
