After a video shot in Pakistan of a couple getting intimate in the backseat of a Fortuner on Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Sarghodah sparked outrage on social media police took action on Tuesday and lodged an FIR against them.

According to a report (FIR) was registered on Tuesday by the Kot Momin police over the video recorded purportedly on the Lahore-Islamabad highway of a couple in compromising positions.

Kot Momin is a town in Punjab, Pakistan. The complaint was filed in accordance with Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) Section 294.

“Whatever they were seen doing is a crime under our penal code…It is public indecency,” the source said.

BOL News  managed to get an FIR lodged at the Kot Momin Police Station, Sargodha, against the alleged couple

“An indecent video on social media has been obtained on October 27 , 2019, in which a couple is doing indecent acts.The unidentified couple in the vehicle have committed indecent actions. Hence, it is requested that legal action against people riding in the vehicle be taken,” the document read.

The video stirred debate over the power of social media as a tool for moral policing and whether the couple’s privacy was infringed upon.
