Livestock, traditional “Mela Maweshian” arranged in DG Khan

Dera Ghazi Khan hosts livestock traditional festival “Mela Maweshian” in order to promote local culture, traditions and livestock after a gap of 10 years.

According to the Government of Punjab’s official Twitter account, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar the Punjab Government has commemorating Mela Maweshi, this will also generate economic activity for almost 50 thousand people during 10 days mela.

Earlier, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar gave approval of a safari park in Dera Ghazi Khan over an area of 500 acres.

Usman Buzdar directed tree plantation in the park, along with one big and four small enclosures, children’s park and other facilities would be provided to visitors.

He further said that the project should be completed as soon as possible to provide quality recreational facilities to people of south Punjab.

He maintained that people of south Punjab had limited opportunities for recreation and this area was kept backwards in the past with regard to development. Provincial Wildlife & Fisheries Minister Asad Khokhar, secretaries of finance, forests, wildlife & fisheries departments, DG wildlife and others also attended the meeting.
