Coronavirus: Countries easing lockdown see spike in cases

Countries around the world are gradually easing the coronavirus lockdown due to which the surge has been witnessed in the number of cases of COVID-19.

While the second wave of coronavirus outbreaks is now being witnessed in China due to the softening of the lockdown, South Korea has also saw the spike in number of cases for the first time in a month.

South Korean officials confirmed on May 11 that about 2,500 people who went to nightclubs and dance bars have been tested, while a search is under way for another 3,000 people attending similar parties.

The number rose to more than 2,100 after several new cases surfaced in the South Korean capital, Seoul, after which nightclubs and bars were closed.

By the morning of May 11, the number of infected people in South Korea had risen to about 11,000 with new cases, and the death toll had risen to 256.

New cases of coronavirus have also been reported in slaughterhouses in Germany, 180 people diagnosed with the deadly virus in just one slaughterhouse.

The Coronavirus has killed 750 more people in the United States, bringing the total death toll to 80,500.

The death toll in the UK has risen to 31,855, after which the lockdown has been extended to June 1 to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

New cases in China and South Korea have raised fears of a second wave of coronavirus pandemic.

Around 4.2 million people worldwide have been infected with the COVID-19 , of which 284,000 have died and 1.5 million have recovered from the virus.
