Gunmen shot dead 7 worshippers in a Mosque in Afghanistan

At least seven worshippers were killed and five others were wounded when gunmen opened fire in a mosque in Central Afghanistan.

Parwan province’s police chief Haroon Mubarez said the gunmen shot people when the worshippers were offering prayers after breaking their fast on Tuesday.

He told the AFP news agency. “Seven people have been killed and 12 wounded. The gunmen fled the area,”

Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry confirmed the attack in Parwan’s capital Charekar.

The United Nations has warned of an alarming increase in violence in Afghanistan.

Earlier, at least 2 babies and 11 mothers and nurses have been assassinated as a gunman who attacked a hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Afghan officials said that another 15 people, including children, were wounded in the incident that took place at Dasht-e-Barchi hospital on Tuesday morning.

International medical charity and Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) run part of the hospital. Some foreigners are also working there.

On the other hand, at least 24 people have been killed in an attack at a police funeral. Several people were wounded as well in that attack.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

A spokesman for the Mangahar provincial government said that number of deaths could increase in the incident at the funeral.

A statement has been issued through the Foreign Office in which Pakistan strongly condemned the “inhuman and cowardly terrorist attack on a medical facility in Kabul and suicide attack on a funeral in Nangarhar”.
